Accommodations

Ten university dorms are located across Tours. They are managed by the students’ welfare office (CROUS) of Orléans-Tours (E-mail sve-tours@crous-orleans-tours.fr).

The INRAE Centre Val de Loire provides accommodation in a number of council flats located in Tours-North, Monnaie, Château-Renault and Nouzilly. PhD students and postdoctoral fellows may take advantage of this opportunity after validation of their training request. They will have to file a request at the administrative division of the INRAE Centre Val de Loire.

Lunch

There is a self-service restaurant that is open from 11:45 am to 1:30 pm at the INRAE Centre Val de Loire. 
In Tours, university restaurants and cafeterias managed by the CROUS are located close to the faculties of Pharmacy and Medicine.

To reach Tours

Plane
International flights to Paris arrive at Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Orly airports. A few national and international destinations are served by flights to the Tours Val de Loire airport.

Train
Most long-distance trains stop at the Saint-Pierre-des-Corps railway station (4km from Tours) and a few in the Tours City Centre. A shuttle operates between the Saint-Pierre des-Corps and Tours stations (5 min. of transportation).

In Paris, you can board high-speed trains (TGV) to Saint-Pierre-des-Corps/Tours at two different railway stations: CDG-airport and Paris-Montparnasse (approximately 90 or 60 min. of transportation). You may also opt to board cheaper regional trains at the Paris-Austerlitz railway station.

Buses
International or national buses run to Tours City Centre.

Tours is located 230 km from Paris towards the south-west. See the map.

To reach INRAE

The INRAE Centre Val de Loire is located 25 km from Tours. INRAE makes buses available that are free of charge for all students and staff. The buses shuttle people from Tours to INRAE in the morning and back in the evening, with several stops from/to the north and the south of Tours.

To move around Tours

There are public tramway and bus services available to move around Tours and its suburbs. Bikes can also be rented in the town.
