Research

My research project deals with the problem of persistence of Salmonella in poultry (Gallus gallus species).
I turn my attention to conditions of microbiota (intestinal flora) and of immunity (host) which contribute to reduce Salmonella colonisation and excretion, with the aim to provide future means of intervention for breeders.
I rely on models of microbiota-host-Salmonella interactions using host target cells (in vitro), intestinal organoids (ex vivo) and organism (in vivo), in order to study the level of Salmonella colonization and the level of expression of immune factors.
