Research

As a bacterial geneticist, I am identifying and characterising the mechanisms used by Salmonella to establish, multiply and persist in the caeca of birds. This fundamental research project will ultimately lead to the development of innovative solutions to combat Salmonella contamination of avian species, and thus contribute to the safety of the human food chain.
